Connect to Heatseeker with MCP

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, or any other MCP client to your Heatseeker workspace. Ask your assistant about your live ad experiments, performance data, audiences, and personas in plain language, and get answers grounded in your real Heatseeker data.

What you can do with it

Once connected, your MCP client can help you:

• Find and switch between your Heatseeker workspaces when you have access to more than one.
• Review experiments to see what ran, what completed, and how each variant performed.
• Pull ad performance data such as top-performing ads, CTR, cost-per-lead, and historical campaign metrics.
• Explore audience research and personas already built in Heatseeker, and chat with a specific persona.
• Ask strategic marketing questions that combine your experiments, campaigns, research, personas, and competitive landscape into one answer.
• Draft new audiences and experiments from your assistant. Drafts open in Heatseeker for review. Launching stays a human step in the app.

Your assistant calls the available Heatseeker tools behind the scenes. Heatseeker enforces workspace permissions on every request.

Who can use it

Access to the Heatseeker MCP server is granted per workspace. Your Heatseeker workspace must have MCP access enabled before you can connect. There is no self-serve toggle in the product today. Enabling it goes through our team.

Setup

The Heatseeker MCP server is hosted by us. There's no software to install and no API key to manage. You sign in with the same Heatseeker account you use in the web app.

Heatseeker is listed in the Claude connector directory and the ChatGPT app directory, so in those clients you can connect with one click. Every other MCP client uses the connection details below.

Claude

Heatseeker is listed in the Claude connector directory: claude.ai/directory/connectors/heatseeker.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop use the same flow:

1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
2. Find Heatseeker in the directory and choose Connect. You can also add it as a custom connector with the server URL above.
3. Sign in with your Heatseeker account when the OAuth window opens.

For Claude Code, add the server with:

claude mcp add --transport http heatseeker https://mcp.heatseeker.ai/mcp/heatseeker

Then run any Heatseeker tool to trigger the OAuth sign-in flow.

ChatGPT

Heatseeker is listed in the ChatGPT app directory: chatgpt.com/apps/heatseeker.

1. Open the Heatseeker app page above, or search for Heatseeker under apps and connectors in your ChatGPT settings.
2. Choose Connect and sign in with your Heatseeker account.
3. Mention Heatseeker in a chat, or ask a Heatseeker question, to confirm the connection.

Microsoft Copilot

Heatseeker is not in the Copilot connector marketplace yet. Copilot connects through a custom MCP server, which is usually set up by your organization's IT or Copilot admin.

1. Ask your admin to add a custom MCP server using the connection details above.
2. Sign in with your Heatseeker account when the OAuth window opens.
3. Ask a Heatseeker question to confirm the connection.

Other MCP clients

Cursor and most other MCP clients follow the same pattern:

1. In your MCP client, add a new remote or custom MCP server.
2. Use the connection details above.
3. Complete the OAuth sign-in flow with your Heatseeker account.
4. Ask a Heatseeker question or run a Heatseeker tool to confirm the connection.

Exact menu names vary by client. Use the setup path for remote MCP servers, custom connectors, or Streamable HTTP servers in your client.

Gemini Enterprise is not supported yet. Its MCP connector is still in preview and requires an OAuth flow that Heatseeker does not offer. Email us if this matters for your team.

Available tools

Heatseeker MCP includes tools for finding workspaces, reviewing experiment and campaign performance, exploring personas, asking broader marketing questions, and drafting new audiences and experiments.

Read your data

• searchWorkspaces: Find Heatseeker workspaces you can access.
• getWorkspaceCatalog: List a workspace's products and saved audiences.
• getAllExperiments: Review completed or published experiments and variant performance.
• getTopAds: Find top or bottom imported campaign ads by performance metric.
• searchCampaignHistory: Search imported campaign history and creative performance.
• listPersonas: See personas available in a workspace.
• chatWithPersonaAgent: Ask questions to a specific persona.
• callDataAnalyst: Combine experiment, campaign, research, and persona evidence into an analytical answer.
• callHeatseekerAIAgent: Ask broader marketing questions using workspace context.

Draft new work

• createAudienceDraft: Draft a new audience from a description of who you want to reach. Opens in Heatseeker for review.
• createExperimentDraft: Draft a complete experiment from a hypothesis, including ad copy for each variant. Opens in Heatseeker for review.
• listExperimentDrafts: List the workspace's in-progress experiment drafts.
• getExperimentDraft: Read one experiment draft in full, including what still needs to be done before launch.

Draft tools create drafts only. Confirming an audience or launching an experiment always happens in the Heatseeker app.

Authentication and permissions

• The MCP server uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Your client handles the flow. You just sign in with your Heatseeker account in the browser.
• Your connected client only sees the same data you can see in the Heatseeker web app. Workspace boundaries and per-user permissions are enforced at the server.
• There are no API keys to rotate or paste. To revoke access, remove the connector from your MCP client.

Troubleshooting

You see an "External MCP access is not available" page after signing in. Your workspace does not have MCP access enabled yet. Email hello@heatseeker.ai and we'll turn it on.

Heatseeker tools don't appear in your MCP client. Restart your MCP client. Double-check the server URL is exactly https://mcp.heatseeker.ai/mcp/heatseeker. If you opened the OAuth window but closed it before completing sign-in, trigger any Heatseeker tool to re-launch the flow.

A question times out or fails partway through. Deep analysis questions can take longer than some clients allow for a single tool call. Ask a narrower question, or ask your assistant to try again.

Wrong workspace data is showing up. You may be signed into a different Heatseeker account than expected. Sign out and sign back in with the right account, or ask your assistant to find and switch workspaces.
